"Service to Nature is Service to God."
Born on 20th Feb 1966 in the village of Ekalkhori (Jodhpur), Khamu Ram Ji is a living embodiment of the Bishnoi philosophy. A government official by profession, he has dedicated his life to a "Silent Revolution" against plastic pollution since 2005.
His journey began in 2005 at Samrathal Dhora. Pained by the plastic waste in holy sites, he became a "One-Man Army," cleaning garbage with his own hands despite ridicule ("Madman", "Ragpicker") and social boycott.
His perseverance caught the eye of French Photojournalist Frank Vogel in 2007, who documented this lone crusader. This led to global recognition, including exhibitions in the Paris Metro and invitations to environmental summits in Europe.
